Cell Phone/Electronic Device Policy |
Electronic devices include but are not limited to: cell phones, MP3 players, Ipods, cameras, pagers, or any electronic games. |

1.
Phones/electronic devices should not be visible, i.e. they should not be out of
book bags, purses, etc. until after 3:30 p.m. |
|
2. The phone/electronic device may not be
used during the school day. |
|
3. The
phone should be turned OFF until after 3:30 (phones should
not ring during the day). |
|
4.
Class time will not be spent looking for misplaced or stolen
phones. The school is not responsible for cell phones.
The student or parent who allows the student to bring the
cell phone to school assumes ALL responsibility. |

| If there
is ANY evidence that a student has used his/her cell phone
(placing call or text messaging) or electronic device, the following consequences
will occur: |

| 1st
offence: Phone/electronic device will be taken to the office, a warning
put in the student's discipline folder and the parent must
retrieve the phone. The phone cannot be picked up by
the parent until the NEXT SCHOOL DAY. |

| 2nd
offence: Phone/electronic device will be taken to office, student will
be given 2 days ISS, and parent must retrieve the phone on
the NEXT SCHOOL DAY. |

| 3rd
offence: Phone/electronic device will be taken to the office, student
will be given 1 day out of school suspension and parent must
retrieve the phone on the NEXT SCHOOL DAY. This student loses the privilege
of having a phone at school. |
