Franklin County Schools Sex Education Curriculum

 

 

The Franklin County Sex Education Committee has met to review the existing curriculum and explore instructional materials as supplements.  The following programs have been approved by the Franklin County Board of Education.

 

 

GoodTouch Bad Touch:  K-5Curriculum that addresses child safety issues including child abuse.

 

BabyBlues:  Play presented by Phoenix Theater Academy to the middle and high school that addresses teen sexual development and pregnancy.

 

HandsAre Not for Hitting:  This program targets elementary grades and utilizes staff and volunteers in the program presentation.  It is designed to address bullying and domestic violence.

 

HandsOff:  The N.E. Sexual Assault Center presents this program to ninth and tenth grade students.  It addresses sexual harassment and bullying.

 

Expect Respect:  The N.E. Sexual Assault Center presents this program to ninth and tenth grade students.  It is designed to address sexual assault and date rape.

 

QuickThink Games:  The Franklin County Child Abuse Committee will donate several games to be placed in elementary and middle school libraries for checkout by staff/mentors.  It is designed to help teach students to make choices that will keep them safe.

 

GeorgiaCouncil Puppet Show:  This program is designed for elementary students and addresses physical abuse, neglect and sexual abuse.
