FRANKLIN COUNTY MIDDLE SCHOOL
DRESS CODE
The
purpose of a dress code is not to inhibit any personÕs taste in attire, but
rather to facilitate the process of education through reasonable guidelines
which instill dignity and pride. Safety, modesty and cleanliness are our goals. Since some types of clothing do
not encourage students to be aware of these goals, the following types of
clothing are prohibited at Franklin County Middle School:
The following
dress code standards must be followed:
1.
Pants must be worn with the waistband above the upper curve of the buttocks.
2.
Shirt tails should be no longer than the length of the wrist with arms extended
by side with shoulders relaxed. Students who do
not comply with either will be required to tuck the shirt in or change clothes.
3.
Shorts, skirts, dresses must be at least 1 inch below the longest finger when
the shoulders are relaxed and arms held straight down by the individualÕs
side. Skirts worn with leggings or
tights must also follow this rule.
Warnings should
not be expected!
Students must
comply or parents will be called to bring more clothes or to pick up the
student.
lf a parent/guardian is not able to be contacted the
school will either provide an alternative outfit (when available) or isolate
the student until the parent can be reached. Consequences will be
administered to students who repeatedly violate this policy.
