     Career Development

  • Career exploration opportunities will be given to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students using the Ga411 system.  Each student will be enrolled and given an interest inventory that will be part of their personal file through the Ga411 system and will follow them throughout High School.  This will be accomplished by working with all teachers to develop a scheduled time in the computer lab throughout the year.

  • Counselors will develop a Career Work Day/Week that will highlight the different types of careers available.  All careers presented involve such skills as leadership qualities, working with tools, being outside, challenging your mind to solve problems, people skills, ability to explain things, strong organizational skills, and ability to work with a team and being creative.

  • Franklin County has access to local colleges and universities that provide several opportunities to our students.  Counselors are integral to arranging field trips to these schools.
