Dr. Macomson
is the assistant principal and athletic director at Franklin County Middle
School. Prior to coming to the middle school, Dr. Mac taught science at Franklin County High School for
seven years. He graduated from Franklin County High
School in 1991, and received his Doctor of Veterinary
Medicine from the University of Georgia College of
Veterinary Medicine in 1998. Dr. Macomson practiced
veterinary medicine full-time for two years before beginning
to teach in the fall of 2000. He completed the Program for
Alternative Certification in Secondary Science (PACSS) from
the University of Georgia in 2003, and is certified in
secondary broad field science (biology, physics, and
chemistry). He completed the North Georgia College and
State University/Pioneer RESA Rising Stars program for
educational leadership in 2007 and holds L6 certification
in educational leadership and supervision. Dr. Mac continues to practice
veterinary medicine in his spare time at Lavonia Animal Hospital in
Lavonia, Georgia.
