I grew up in Franklin County, and I graduated from Franklin
County High School. I went on to Emmanuel College and
received an A.A. degree in general education. From there, I
went to the University of Georgia, and I received a B.A.
degree in History and a minor in English. I decided to
pursue my love of History and English by adding an education
degree. I went back to Emmanuel College, and I received a
B.S. in Middle School Education specializing in social
studies and language arts. I began teaching at Franklin
County Middle School in August of 1997, and I have been here
ever since then! I love teaching at FCMS, and hopefully one
day I will be teaching the children of the students that I
taught my first years of teaching! My love for education
has influenced me to continue my own education. Once I
began my teaching career, I did pursue other degrees. I
have an M.A. in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont
College. I also have an Ed.S. degree in Educational
Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial
University. Continuing my own education is not my only
hobby! I love to read. Historical fiction is my favorite
genre. I share this love of reading with the students I
teach and with my own children. My husband, John, and I
have two children. Taylor is eleven years old and in the
sixth grade, and my son, Levi, is five years old and in kindergarten. |
