My hope for all of my students is that they grow up and do something they love as much as I love my job! In addition to teaching, I love to spend time with God and my family, read, scrapbook, watch Little House on the Prairie reruns, and listen to all kinds of music.
When I went to Florida State, I originally studied music so I could be a music teacher. After completing minors in music education, psychology, and math (it was all so interesting!), I ended up switching my major to computer science. I worked in data processing for years doing many jobs at the company I worked for; programming, managing projects and people, and training were a few of them. Why the switch to teaching? I tell people that my heart woke up! My husband encouraged me to pursue my passion - teaching. I obtained my Master of Arts in Teaching from Oglethorpe University in 2007 and my Education Specialist degree from Piedmont University in May 2011.
Our family moved permanently to Martin several years ago. After commuting over 60 miles to teach for 2 years, we are blessed that God has led me to teach close to my home community; our family knows that He led me deliberately and thankfully to teach kids in the critical middle grades years. I am proud and excited to be part of the Franklin County Middle School family!
